Nyanza Avery, aged 70, passed away on February 14, 2026, in Greenville, TN. Born on January 13, 1956, Nyanza lived a life marked by the love of her family and the joy of her companionship.
Nyanza is survived by a loving family, including her brother Tim Avery and his wife Brenda; daughters Wilma Johnson, Wanda Ray, and Wendy Jones; niece Stephanie Napier; nephews Jimmy Bowman; niece Tracy Thomas; great-niece Summer Calloway; twelve grandchildren, among them Davia Jones and her husband Dustin; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Trixie. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with much happiness and pride.
She was preceded in death by her father Plenti Grant, mother Ruby Irene (Fields) Avery, brothers Jack and Norman Avery, and her husband Eddie Million.
Nyanza will be remembered for her warmth and the quiet strength she brought to every day of her life. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
