Robert McFadden Obituary

Robert "Bob" McFadden

April 15, 2026

LIMESTONE - Robert "Bob" McFadden of Limestone, Tennessee, age 74, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the son of the late John Harding McFadden and Martha Witcher McFadden.

Bob was a man who made a tremendous impact on many people. His warm and caring personality brought smiles and laughter to family and friends for years. Above all, Bob lived with a firm faith in Christ, which gave him peace and served as his pathway to an eternity in heaven.

He was a longtime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served in many roles and deeply valued the friendships he built through his Sunday School class and the Wesley Men's Group. Bob lived a life marked by service to others.

Bob graduated from Unicoi County High School in 1970 and from East Tennessee State University in 1975. He remained a lifelong sports fan, enjoying ETSU and Tennessee Volunteer games with family and friends.

He retired from Nuclear Fuel Services after 38 years, following in the footsteps of his father. Over the course of his career, he oversaw numerous construction and work management projects, laying the foundation for the nickname his grandchildren would later give him, "Bob the Builder."

Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures. He cherished time with his twin brother, John, and close friends. Their shared stories brought laughter to many, and they spent countless hours playing golf, making wine, traveling, and attending drag races in Bristol.

More than anything, Bob loved his family. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, including watching his grandson Samuel play baseball and allowing his granddaughter Lexi to put bows in his hair. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his twin brother and best friend, John McFadden.

He is survived by many family members and friends who loved him deeply, including his sister, Connie Smith.

Bob will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous heart, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and care.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery & Cremation Gardens, 1100 7th Street, Erwin, Tennessee.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Rece Laney and the ICU staff at Johnson City Medical Center, as well as Pastors Caleb Frazier and Ken Lytton, for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Men's Group, 225 Princeton Road, Johnson City, Tennessee 37601, or to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson City/Washington County, 2210 West Market Street, Johnson City,
