She was my 5th grade teacher. Her and my sister went to school together. At the end of class each day she would line up the ones who had got in trouble through out the day. Depending on how much trouble they made that was how many licks they got. Now that I'm older I think my sister had her give me at least one lick everyday lol. I loved her for it and will always remember her. She will be missed.

The world lost a beautiful soul to heaven. Dorothy gave her heart to the children she taught and the teachers she worked with. Loving and kind always. Fly high sweet Dorothy.

Mrs. Keys was my 5th grade teacher at Asbury School back in the seventies. She was an amazingly patient and caring teacher. As an educator myself, I saw her multiple times through the years and she never changed! She was always smiling, always had a kind word and was always beautiful--she never aged! So many lives touched will remember her kindly. May you rest in peace and may your family rest knowing you are now with Jesus. Thank you Mrs. Keys.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dorothy was such a special lady..to know her was to love her. She was our son's first grade teacher. She not only gave him a wonderful beginning to the elementary years, but she loved him and he knew it. The patience and kindness she showed to each of her students was so evident, to her gentle way of discipline to the affection she showed to each student who was lucky enough to have her as their teacher. Years later, when we taught together, I was able to witness that same love and kindess It was such a joy to share those years together. I will always remember the laughter we shared during our weekly planning sessions. In her quiet way, Dorothy taught us all kindness, patience, forgiveness, and set the perfect example of what it is to be a "woman of God." David, Marty, and Krystal--you and your entire family will be in my prayers during the days ahead.
