Wanda Lyons Obituary

ELIZABETHTON - Wanda Sue Lyons, age 74, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Myrtle Brummitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lyons; sons, Scott Jerome Lyons and Robbie Lynn Lyons; nine siblings, Clara Greene, Jeanette Rose, Hubert Brummitt, Hazel Head, Jube Brummitt, James Brummitt, Floyd Brummitt, Jr., Josephine Brummitt and Thelma Miller.

Wanda retired as a cook from Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sitting on her porch drinking coffee. Wanda was of the Christian faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Jordan Baker (Logan), of Lexington NC, Noah Lyons, of Blacksburg, VA; Britney Lyons and Autumn Lyons, both, of Elizabethton, TN; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Baker, Amelia Baker, Kayden Reece and Gracelynn Lyons; sister, Marie Davis, of Johnson City and two nieces, Janice Clark and Shirlene Odom, both of Elizabethton, TN.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.

The graveside service will follow in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Ken Jefferies officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
