ELIZABETHTON - Thomas Harry Penix, 81, of Elizabethton, formerly Gray, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born on October 18, 1944, in Piney Flats, Tennessee, Thomas was the son of the late Roy Lee Penix and Julia Pauline Penix. From the age of 16, Thomas devoted his life to a profession he loved, installing church pews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Richard Bawgus. A committal service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Washington County Memory Gardens. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.
