Geraldine Treadway Hardin

ERWIN - Geraldine Treadway Hardin, age 87, of Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, while she was surrounded by her family and friends at her residence. She was born in Flag Pond on June 13, 1938, to the late Leonard Treadway and Birdie Tipton Treadway. Geraldine was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County.
Geraldine worked in production at Morrill Motors for twenty-four years. After Morrill Motors closed their plant Geraldine began working in production at Vesuvius for several years. She also worked with her family at Engle's Roadside Rest. Geraldine was a hard worker all her life.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and attended West Park Street Baptist Church. Geraldine was a faithful, godly woman who loved the Lord with all her heart.
Geraldine had a kind, giving and generous heart who was always helping others. She would give you the shirt off her back if you were in need of it. Geraldine loved her friends and she had numerous friends who treasured their friendship with her.
She kept an immaculate home, and she always welcomed family and friends into her home. Geraldine was an exceptional cook. She enjoyed growing flowers, vegetables, and canning.
Above all, Geraldine loved her family dearly, and she took excellent care of them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family and friends take great comfort in knowing Geraldine is now resting in peace with her Savior, Jesus.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine is preceded in death by her daughter, Myra Hardin; two brothers: Foriest Treadway and Kenneth Treadway; sister, Golda Morrison.
Geraldine leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her three children: Teresa Engle (James) of Erwin, Norman Hardin (Becky) of Erwin, and Denise Brown (Lee) of Flag Pond; four grandchildren: Daniel Engle, Alex Engle, Eric Hardin, and Morgan Lee Brown; four great grandchildren: Ty Engle, Kyndal Engle, Rylan Engle, and Maylyn Engle; her brother, Dennis Treadway (Judy) of Erwin; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends also survive.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, especially Becky Bennett Allen and Geraldine's caregivers who took excellent care of Geraldine and her family during this difficult time.
The Hardin family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the funeral home. Brother Jeff Autrey will officiate Geraldine's funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Lee Brown will deliver her eulogy. Geraldine's committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Evergreen Cemetery. Daniel Engle, Alex Engle, Eric Hardin, Rylan Engle, Shawn Treadway, and Jaxon Treadway will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. on Monday.
