BUTLER - Thomas Richard Cable, 84, Butler went to be with his Lord Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Dewey & Josie Laws Cable. He was retired from North American Rayon Corporation. He loved mowing yards and taking care of friends and neighbors that were in need. Richard was a member and former deacon of Little Doe Baptist Church. He had served as a Deacon for several years until his illness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Cable.
Survivors include his Son: Teddy Ray Cable & wife Debbie of Daytona Beach, Florida. His Grandchildren: Lacinda Lewis, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Shauna Bailer, Daytona Beach, Florida and Todd Cable, Butler. Four Great Grandchildren: Raiden Lewis, Kaidence Lewis, Todd Cable, Jr.,and Trinity Cable. His four legged baby friend, Sam.
A Service to celebrate the life of Richard will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 in the Little Doe Baptist Church with Pastor Kreg Smith officiating. Music will be by Kaidence Lewis. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dick Pleasant, Dr. Shine, Deacons and Church members of Little Doe Baptist Church, and the Staff of Mtn. City Care Center. A special thank you to the staff of Mountain City Care & Rehab Center and also Johnston Memorial Hospital ER & 3rd floor Doctors & Staff. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
