Terry McKinnon

March 12, 2026

Terry Lee McKinnon, 70, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on March 12, 2026, at her home in Naples, FL.

Terry was born on February 4, 1956, in Pittsfield, MA, to June and Larry Love. She attended Monument Mountain Regional High School, graduating in June 1974. She went on to earn her degree in nursing from Southern Vermont College and obtained her Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in May 1993. Terry dedicated 25 years of her life to working as a psychiatric nurse, caring for others with compassion and skill. Her work was a true reflection of her generous heart and her natural ability to comfort those in need.

She was known for her incredible strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Terry fought a courageous three-year battle with cancer, showing resilience and grace every step of the way. Through this journey, her faith grew deeply, becoming a source of strength, comfort, and peace for both her and those around her. She was, without a doubt, one of the strongest women her family knew.

Above all, Terry was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband, John; her brother, Gary; her children and stepchildren, Adam (Elizabeth), Amy (fiancé Jeremy), Meg (Gary), and Mac; her beloved grandchildren, Tommy, Ethan, Lily, Emily, Ada, and Leon, whom she adored and loved to spoil; her nephews, Matt and Kyle; and niece, Shauna. Her family will forever cherish her love and memory.

Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around her. Whether through her work, her home, or the simple moments she shared, she made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for those who wish to honor and remember her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Terry's memory be made to the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition whose Emergency Access Fund assists patients with essential living and medical expenses.

"I have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, and I feared no evil: for thou were with me; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
