I just found out about Scotts passing, while trying to contact him
after the hurricane in N.C.
I first met "scotty" while hiking on the Appalachian trail in 1995.
we hike together for a while, and then all thru the white mts. in N.H.
We stayed in contact after finishing our hikes, and he and Ron Frey
visited me in Cedar key, Fl. where Scott and I bicycled several "bike
trails" in that area, as well as some canoe trails on the swannee,
and Withlachoee rivers.
I visited him several times at his hiker hostile in Roan Mt, and
helped take care of the hostile while he was on a cruise, with his
family .
Scotty was a great friend and I learned a lot from him...
Happy trails "Scotty".....your old friend Geezer95....

I only heard about Scotty's passing a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to offer my condolences to his family. I met Scotty in the early 90's, we shared a lot of common interests in hiking. We became good friends and continued to get together every year before trail days, along with other friends, to do some hiking and provide trail magic to the AT thru hikers. I looked forward to our annual get together every May before Trail Days at the hostile. Scotty was a great guy and I will never forget him. Rest in Peace Brother.

Hello to Family and Friends,
My name is Kevin G. and I am deaf. I live in Holmen, WI. I have known Scott since 1990 thru his friend and partner Ron Frey in la Crosse, WI. I help out with them in their home like a lawn cut for the summer. Since they moved to Roan Mountain, TN and they really love there so I was happy for them. Later on after my friend Ron passed away then I go there in the winter season to visit Scott and then we go to Florida for a wonderful time for a month or so. We have been doing that for over 5 years. I help him for whatever he needed while we go on the ship cruises and it was beautiful and Scott love it on the cruise. We also go to the beaches where we get plenty of sun shining. We both believe the sun is a good medicine for our body and we love it. We also walk on the hiking trail and on the beaches where there is peace and love... So sorry that he passed away and Scott was my very good friend of mine and I will never forget him. I know he is safe in heaven and he is free from his suffering. I know he is very happy to be home in heaven... Then I say, Amen with Love and Light... Big Smile...
