JOHNSON CITY - Ruth Imogene Saylor, 86, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 25, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side. Mrs. Saylor was a native and lifetime resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late William "Bill" Rosenbaum and Annabell Blevins Rosenbaum. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Johnson City. Mrs. Saylor loved gospel music, doing word search, going to yard sales, she loved animals especially her baby dog, Anna. Most of all she loved her family, she was blessed with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Saylor; a grandson, Joseph Saylor; four brothers, Harold, Ron, L.C. and Dewey Rosenbaum; three sisters, Vernie Culbert, Edna Fuller and Hess Fagan; also father of her children, Lester "Bud" Saylor.
Survivors include her children, Donald Saylor and Brenda of Johnson City, Sharon Orton and husband, Ken of Johnson City, Pamela Sansom of Telford, Linda Saylor and friend, Jamie of Elizabethton, Mary Orton and husband, Tiger of Johnson City and Julie Byrd and husband, Kenny of Johnson City; twelve grandchildren, Josh Milhorn, Brandi Carter, John Dugger, Alana Miles, Amy Saylor, Charlie Sansom, Amanda Greene, T.J. Orton, Shaleigha Orton, Jamie Hicks, Keith Saylor and James Saylor; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Brenda Brewer and Mary Nidiffer; also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Saylor will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, 515 Hart Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Jim Chatman and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Special music by Pastor Jim Chatman. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Sansom, Bray Carter and Matthew and James Saylor.
