April 14, 2026

KINFSPORT - Clyde Wayne Taylor, 83, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. Born June 18, 1942, in Kingsport, Wayne spent most of his life in East Tennessee, leaving only to serve his country. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant in the Military Police, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Wayne was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and dedicated his career to education in Sullivan County, retiring as Director of Special Education. He made a lasting impact on the lives of many students and families.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Taylor; his son, Randel Taylor and wife Jill; his daughters, Kim Jones and husband Wayne, and Becky Raiford; and his grandchildren, Julian Raiford, Lilly Taylor, Maggie Taylor, and Finnley Taylor.

In his later years, he faced Parkinson's disease with quiet strength, finding his greatest joy in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Wayne's journey on earth has ended, and he is now at peace.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Clayton Farmer officiating, and Military Honors by The American Legion Posts 3/265.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in Wayne's memory at Parkinson's Foundation Tennessee and Kentucky Chapter, Attn. Donor Services, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126.
