Nancy Vee Hamilton Brinkley

GRAY - Nancy Vee Hamilton Brinkley, 85, Gray, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born in Sullivan County and was a daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Parker Hamilton.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. She was saved at the age of nine and had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, whose blessings she cherished throughout her life. Nancy was very active in her church and faithfully dedicated 58 years to teaching the 5-year-old Sunday School Class, touching countless lives with her devotion and guidance.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Slagle.

Survivors include her son, William "Bill" Brinkley II (Teresa); daughter, Rebecca Street (Todd); grandchildren, Erin Brinkley, Benjamin Brinkley (Kara), Seth Street, Alexandria Street; great grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Brinkley and Riley Kate Brinkley; special cousin, Pepper Smith; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Nancy will be conducted Thursday, February 26, 2026, 12:00pm at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor John Herdman, officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ben Brinkley, Seth Street, Mark Larkey, Scott Martin, Mark Randolph, Luke Randolph, Russ Foster and David Rush.

In-lieu-of flowers the family requests donations be made to Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 197 Suncrest St. Johnson City, TN 37615.
