JOHNSON CITY - Mary Belle Hood Holt, 92, Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was born March 30, 1931 to the late Herbert H. & Vicey Morrell Hood. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was retired as an Executive Secretary, with Dr. William Browder after 20 years of service at Quillen College of Medicine. She served as a Chaplain at the Johnson City Medical Center for several years. She loved walking and also reading her Bible. Mary Belle was a very active member of Hopwood Christian Church and was involved with the youth of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Don Hood and Herbert Hood.
She is survived by four children: Jeff (Amanda) Holt, Joe (Tina) Holt, Chris (Pam) Holt and Marti (Criss) Cook. 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren. Two Sisters: Jimmie Ruth Bailey and Billie (Mike) Peters. Numerous nieces and nephews. Also a special friend: Sherry Crouch.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Hopwood Christian Church with Pastor Benjamin Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Hopwood Building Fund or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.

Since I met Mary in the early 60s as a little kid, all I ever experienced was someone with a tremendously kind heart, a warm smile and a laugh that would make you smile. Her wonderful family was blessed to have her for so many years and our family is thankful to have known her.
