Laila West Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Laila Sue West, age 89, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025, following an extended illness. Born in Saltville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Millard McClure and Stella Musselwhite McClure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard West; her children, Kathy Christianson, Mickey West, Matthew West, and Chuck West; her grandson, Jerry Mott; and four siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Richard (Janice) West, Sandra (Joel) Ratcliff, Sharon West, and Joe West; a special grandson, James Ty West; grandchildren, Daniel West, Nikki (Bubba) Smith, Charles West, OJ and Lacie West, and Eddie and William Swindall; great-grandchildren, Jacob West, Summer, Autumn, and Emily Swindall, Tyler and Shane Smith, and Lilly Rose West; along with many nieces and nephews.
Laila's family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Historic Side. Those attending are asked to please meet at the cemetery.
The family extends a very special thank you to the staff of Hermitage Nursing Home in Elizabethton for their compassionate and loving care of Laila.
