JOHNSON CITY- Ken Parrish, 73, passed away on January 14th at Johnson City Medical Center. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, son of Herman Harvey Parrish and Geraldine Ruby Parrish. East TN was his home, where he worked at Dillard Paper Company, and became owner/operator of Lakeview Marina. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. To many he was known as Ken, but those who knew him close called him Papa.
In addition to his parents Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Parrish, and granddaughter Morgan Bentley.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 53 years, Patricia Elaine Parrish, sons, daughter and daughters-in-law, Craig Parrish (Melissa), Jeff Parrish, grandchildren, Amber & Ethan Bentley, Kaira & Lanie Parrish, Cooper, Braeden, Boaz, & Kami Parrish, numerous honorary grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, Joseph Kenneth Jamison and another on the way. Surviving family members include sister, brothers, and several nieces and nephews: Jeanie Jones (Frankie), Harvey Parrish (Libby), Doug Parrish (Patricia), Timothy Parrish, and Celena Throckmorton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, Johnson City, TN.
