ELIZABETHTON - Joyce Smith Guy, age 82, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her home. Joyce was born in Carter County to the late Cecil C. Smith and Irene Townsend Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Tolley, Rosalee Jones and Thelma Hyder.

Joyce was a member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church where she served as choir director and a Sunday School teacher. She loved her church and family. Joyce would always bring the family together for holidays and was vibrant and ready to entertain.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her husband, Cecil Guy; her son, Michael K. Honeycutt and wife Melissa of Hampton; her daughter, Karen Timbs of Hampton; three sisters, Jacquelyn Whitehead of Elizabethton, Lois Lemmon of Bristol, TN and Jean Cosgrove of North Carolina; a stepson, Dan Guy; her special friends, Weston and Landon Street, McKinley Kuhn and Jayden Kuhn all of Hampton; several nieces and nephews, and a special nephew, Bradley Whitehead.

A service to celebrate Joyce's life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Reverend Shane Waters officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Tuesday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Mr. Dewayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be family, church friends and church family.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Joyce to Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church Ladie's Class, 118 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, TN 37658.
