James Evans Obituary

April 22, 1945 - June 14, 2023

PINEY FLATS - James "Jimmy" Evans, born April 22, 1945 and raised in Newport, TN, currently living in Piney Flats, TN, sadly passed away on June 14, 2023 after a brief illness. A loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member at Boone Trail Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tn. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan and enjoyed attending car shows. He spent over 50 years of his life working as a mechanical engineer and tool and die maker for companies at Rheem Mfg. in Montgomery, Alabama. Most recently he worked for TPI Corporation in Gray, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend William "Bill" Evans; mother, Nora Jane Evans; sister, Imogene McCarter. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Evans; children, James (Kimberly) Evans of Hayesville, NC and Sherre (Brian) Dubis of Merrimack, NH; grandson, Braedon Dubis of Merrimack, NH; granddaughters, Lyndsey Evans of Hayesville, NC, Brenae Dubis of Merrimack, NH; sister, Mary Catherine Ball; along with close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Manes Funeral Home. Service to follow with Lanny Hill, Allen White, and Rev.
