George "Kenny" Lewis September 18, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - George "Kenny" Lewis, age 74, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. Kenny was born in Johnson City to the late George W. "G.W." Lewis and Helen Clark Lewis. In addition to his parents, Kenny was also preceded in death by his grandparents.
Kenny retired from the Vocational Training Center where he worked on furniture. He was a member of Brick Christian Church and enjoyed going to McDonalds and Chick-Fil-A. Kenny also loved to collect baseball cards and dinosaurs.
Those left to remember and cherish Kenny include his two beloved sisters, Joan Jarrett and husband Allen of Johnson City and Diane Stuart also of Johnson City; and his nephew, Jason Jarrett of Johnson City. Several cousins and special friends also survive.
A service to celebrate Kenny's life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Ernie Depew officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Monday or at the residence at other times.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dickie Clark, Eddie Thomason, Steve Sellers, Jed Dicky, Tommy Little and Sonny Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Brick Christian Church and Kenny's family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park (Christus Section) at 10:50 AM on Tuesday.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Kenny to the Elizabethton/ Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
