JOHNSON CITY - Dr. Gamal S. Boutros, age 70 of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Cairo, Egypt, he was the son of Sami and Soad Boutros.
Dr. Boutros was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Johnny Boutros. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Pamela Boutros; daughter, Krysta Boutros; stepson, Steven Tanton (Maria); sister, Hanan Mikhail (Sarwat); brother, Hany Boutros (Leticia); nieces, Andrea Boutros and Megan Saweres and nephews, Nicolas Boutros and Anthony Mikhail.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday November 15, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Coptic Orthodox Church, 5825 Fort Henry Drive, Kingsport. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville.

I learned of Dr. Boutros' passing just today (03092026).
I was a patient of his from 2014-2021 in his private practice. He called me at home at 7:30 at night and told me he was going to take care of me when I had an attack. He diagnosed me with MS just before he retired from private practice. I ran into him and his wife, Pam, at Sam's after that and he told me he would be back and to keep my eye out for him. I was excited to learn he had come to the VA and I immediately requested him to be my provider. I am forever grateful to this man for sticking with me. Pam, I pray for your comfort. I love Dr. Boutros and will forever feel the loss of him.

Dr Boutros was my husbands Dr at the V A. Up until he got sick. A compassionate man ... so caring to me and my husband. We will surely miss him. Richard and Nancy shew

Dr. Boutros was my daughter Brittany Silvers doctor. Brittany really liked him. When Dr. Boutros would come in the room, Brittany would start laughing. Love and prayers for you all
