ELIZABETHTON - Frances Little Jewett of Elizabethton, TN passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 14th after a lengthy illness. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Vaughn Jewett; parents, Cecil and Nora Holden Little; three brothers Gene and wife Pauline Little, Frank and wife Carolyn Little, J.B. Little; and her sister, Betty Ann Little.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons; Larry Jewett and Vaughn Kenneth Jewett; one daughter, Tammy Simerly and husband David; two grandsons Matthew Simerly, and William Simerly and his husband Ashton Hicks of Knoxville, TN.
Frances enjoyed working outside in her garden, sewing, time with family, and a good cup of coffee with a Little Debbie cake. Her entire life revolved around her home on State Line Road as well as her neighbors and family. She was a devoted wife, momma, mamaw, and friend to many. She was a lifelong member of Valley Forge United Methodist Church. Frances was the last remaining member of her immediate and extended family and with her passing an era has ended.
The family would like to thank Amedysis for their care of Frances over the last several years. The family would like to especially thank Megan Renfro and Melissa Buckles for their care and concern for Frances.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Valley Forge United Methodist Church, US-19E #37, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
All who wish to attend the graveside service should meet at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1:15 pm to go in procession to the Hyder-Little Cemetery. The graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her grandson William Simerly officiating. Pallbearers will be friends and family members at the service.
