Frances Anderson Obituary

Frances Joan Anderson

June 29, 1939 -

December 27, 2025

LODI, OH - Frances Joan Anderson, age 86, of Lodi, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the presence of loved ones.

She was born on June 29, 1939, in Elyria, Ohio, to Frank and Nina (Tibbits) DuPlaga. Frances was raised in the Lafayette and Medina areas and graduated from Medina High School in 1957, where she was salutatorian of her class, a reflection of the diligence and determination that would define her life.

Later that same year, she married Ralph Anderson. Together they built a life grounded in family, responsibility, and hard work, sharing many devoted years until Ralph's passing.

Frances' life was marked by an unwavering work ethic and a deep sense of duty. She spent 18 years working at the A&P grocery store in Medina, a role that exemplified her reliability and commitment. She later worked as a librarian for Cloverleaf Local Schools before pursuing a new and demanding path. At the age of 55, Frances attended the police academy and went on to serve as a Deputy Sheriff with the Medina County Sheriff's Department, demonstrating remarkable determination and proving that dedication has no age limit. In every position she held, Frances gave her full effort and never missed a beat.

Equally important to her was her role as a mother. Despite the demands of work, Frances consistently provided unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement to her children, standing firmly behind them in all they pursued. Her strength, dependability, and quiet sacrifice were the cornerstones of her family's foundation.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Melissa) Anderson of South Euclid, Troy Anderson of Lodi, and Ryan (Alessandra) Anderson of Lynchburg, Virginia; her grandchildren, Nick and Lily Anderson, and Ana Anderson; her brothers, Michael (Barb) DuPlaga of Creston and Roy (Debra) DuPlaga of Seville; and her sister Kathy (Phil) Carpenter of Lodi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ralph Anderson; and her sister, Judy Friedrich.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 2, from 1-3 and 5-7 PM at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina Street, Lodi, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, at 10:00 AM at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 6201 Lafayette Rd. Lafayette, OH. Rev. Robert Ludwig will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.

With grateful hearts, the family welcomes flowers or memorial donations to The Salvation Army in Frances' honor.
