JOHNSON CITY - Floyd Junior Mayberry, 79, Johnson City, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at his residence, with his family by his side.
Floyd was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Chester and Ruby Oaks Mayberry.
Floyd was a member of the Carter County Car Club. He enjoyed spending his weekends at the car shows and flea markets. Floyd loved listening to country music, especially Hank Williams and Johnny Cash.
In addition to his parents Floyd was preceded in death by his brother, C.J. Mayberry.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Graham Hilliard; daughters, Jennifer Mayberry (Teena), Robin Miller (David); grandchildren, Matthew Miller, Whitney Miller; special grandchildren, Heather Shelton, Shannon Silvers; great-grandson, Chasyn Sparks; sister, Yvonne Morrow; brother, Lee Jones (Fran); several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 14, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Lenny Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Miller, Matthew Miller, Steve Graham, Justin Graham, Chris Sparks, Roger Riddle, Shannon Silvers, Lee Jones, Kenneth Oaks, Jerry Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Carter County Car Club. Those who wish to follow in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:45 A.M.
The family would like to invite friends to stop by the family home to visit before the service date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Tennessee Cancer Specialists and Caris Healthcare for their wonderful care of Floyd during this time.
