Elizabeth Marie Viola Barker

July 2, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Elizabeth Marie Viola Barker, 89, Johnson City, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born in New Haven, CT, and was a daughter of the late of Nicholas and Mildred Viola of Orange, CT.

In addition to her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Barker.

The most wonderful and caring mother, she is survived by her sons, Billy and George Barker; sisters, Dorothy Mae Saracin, Jeannie Barbara Viola; brother, Ronald F. Viola, of Milford, CT.

"Betty was a devoted homemaker who found joy in bridge parties, sewing, socializing, and community activities. A devout Roman Catholic, she was truly an angel on Earth, always giving, caring, and putting others before herself. Deeply family-oriented, her love and selflessness touched everyone who knew her.

She will be inurned between her parents at St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford, CT in a private service.
