Lenora Retta Cox went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2026. She was a 1986 graduate of Hampton High School and a 1988 graduate of ETSU. She was a retired Dental Assistant and a faithful life-long member of Sunset Freewill Baptist Church in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening, making crafts, and photography. She loved the Lord, her family, her church, and just about everyone she came in contact with. She had a smile, laugh, grace, and gentle way about her that made everyone that knew her fell special, and will be greatly missed by so many people.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years: Danny Cox, her daughter: Vanessa Cox, and Sister: Angela Odom, also her dog "Bitsy".

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Whitehead and Rev. Brandon Young officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Jason Carter, Eric Carter, Evan Carter, Scott Odom, Grayson Young and Elijah Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Jeff Smith. Special singing will be performed by the Sunset Free Will Baptist Church Choir. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
