Dorothy Marie Hicks Hobson

January 8, 1934 - March 19, 2025

ELIZABETHTON - Dorothy Marie Hicks Hopson, 91, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was born January 8, 1934 in Butler to the late Lawrence & Hattie Cook Hicks. Her family later moved to Roan Mountain. She was a graduate of Cloudland High School. Dorothy retired from Inland Containers. She was a talented seamstress, doing lots of sewing and alterations for many family and friends over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. She was a member of Blevins Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Pat Hopson , a step-daughter: Jannie Nichols and many nieces and nephews.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Dorothy will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. Interment will be in Mountain Home National Cemetery.
