ELIZABETHTON - Brenda Kaye Laws, age 75, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2025 at Signature Health . Brenda was born in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Clifford Teague and Juanita Teague. In addition to her parents, Brenda was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Teague and Howard Teague.

Brenda was a wonderful woman who loved everyone and would never let anyone, or anything go hungry. She was a faithful wife, sister and friend. Brenda retired from Ballad Health where she was a cook for 38 years. Brenda was of the Baptist faith and her hobbies included gardening, canning and going on car rides. She loved animals and especially her beloved cat Bandit.

Those left to remember Brenda's memory include her husband, Jeffrey Laws; her brother Dennis Teague and wife Teresa of Elizabethton; sister-in-law, Rachel Schneider of Wisconsin; nieces, Savannah Schneider and Samantha Schneider, both of Wisconsin; nephew, Ely Schneider, of Wisconsin; great niece, Loretta Schneider, of Wisconsin; special friend, Shirley Elkins, of Gray, Tennessee. Several other extended family members also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Signature Health Care and Amedisys Hospice for all the care and support given to Mrs. Laws during this difficult time.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to donate to a charity of your choice.

A service to celebrate the life of Brenda will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Mark Potter officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Wednesday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to be a part of this service are asked to meet at the cemetery no later than 10:50 AM on Thursday.
