Brenda Laws Obituary

Brenda Jean Laws

March 29, 2026

JOHNSON CITY - Brenda Jean Laws, 83, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, at her home.

Brenda was an avid Vols sports fan, you could always count on her to be cheering them on with enthusiasm. She had a deep love for flowers, birds, and nature in general, finding peace and joy in the world around her.

Brenda shared a strong and loving marriage with her husband of 36 years, Gene. The two were married in Kauai, Hawaii, a place that reflected her love for beauty and travel. Together, they made many memories exploring new places and enjoying life side by side.

She was a devoted member of Lynnwood Christian Church, where she faithfully served as Treasure for 30 years. Before joining Lynnwood, she was a member of Old Union Methodist Church. She also spent many years teaching Sunday School and Bible School, sharing her love of faith with others. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, something she carried with her in everything she did.

Above all, her family meant everything to her. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lola Price.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband Eugene Laws; sons, Neal Click and Thomas Click (Laura); sister, Frankie Collins (Mike); grandchildren, Catherine Click Leamon (Cory), Alexandra Click Thompson (Alex), Owen Click and Eli Click; great grandson, Camden Leamon; nieces and nephews, Tonys Hobbs, William Hobbs, Brandy Collins, Brittany Collins Helton (Chris), Sabrina Collins Kennedy (Jake), Christopher Collins, Lt. Timothy Munsey (Andra), and Jon Munsey (Bri).

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 7:00pm in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Minister Glenn Keller officiating. A visitation period will begin at 5:00pm and continue until the service hour.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to caregivers Bridget and Summer for all their love and care they have shown to Mrs. Brenda during her illness, as well as the staff with Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Lynnwood Christian Church, 2755 Watauga Road, Johnson City, TN 37601, The Pat Summitt Foundation for Alzheimer's Research (patsummit.org), or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
