Beatrice Powers Obituary
Beatrice Powers September 11, 1929- July 21, 2024
ERWIN - Beatrice Powers, age 94, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home. A native of Pike County, KY, Beatrice is a daughter of the late Lee and Tabitha (McPeak) Belcher. She was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed painting and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by her first husband, Ford Selvage; second husband, Oscar H. Powers; infant son, Kevin Dale Selvage; six brothers and six sisters.
Beatrice Powers has left behind to cherish her memory, children: Jerry Selvage (Chris), of Crossville, TN, Judy Davis, of Gray, TN, Gary Selvage (Kathy), of Wise, VA, and Jeff Selvage (Lisa) of Jonesborough; grandchildren: Steve Selvage, Jennifer Linden, Ford Davis, Jarrod Davis, Jamey Roberts, Emily Selvage, and Cassie Selvage; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many very special friends.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Beatrice Powers in a funeral service to be held at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Roger Laws will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 25, 2024 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those attending the committal service should meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery by 9:50 am for the service. Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Steve, Ford, Jarrod, Jamey, Ryan, Noah, Andrew, Gabe, Landon and Jude. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer, Emily, Cassie, Payton and Allie.
