Alice "Christine" Frederickson

Alice Christine (Reinhardt) Frederickson, 78, of Piney Flats, Tennessee ascended to her heavenly home into the arms of Jesus on December 6, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving children. Christine was born in Kokomo, Indiana on February 17, 1947, to the late James & Betty Reinhardt.

Christine graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965 while she worked at G.C. Murphy's where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Herb Frederickson. Herb and Christine got married in 1967 after Herb returned home from the Vietnam war. Herb's job in retail management moved them to many places including Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and finally setting back home in Tennessee in 1994. Christine spent her years as a homemaker, raising her kids and also working in retail including a 34-year career at Wal-Mart where Christine retired from in 2024.

Christine was the best Mom and Grammie her family could have asked for, always putting them first. She was well known for her sweet tea, genuine smile and willingness to help anyone at a moment's notice. She spent her spare time volunteering at the animal shelter, the Ronald McDonald house and helping raise her 3 grandchildren.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Herb Frederickson, brother Blaine Reinhardt and brother-in-law Donald Downs. Those left to cherish her memory are three children and their spouses: Jason (Lorrie) Frederickson of Dunedin, FL, Andrew (Dora) Frederickson of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Amanda (Mike) Holden of Knoxville, TN. Three grandchildren whom she adored: Kash Frederickson, Jette Frederickson, and Wyatt Holden.

She is also survived by brothers, Ron (Betty) Reinhardt of Kokomo, IN, Milo (Deb) Reinhardt of Lafayette, IN and sisters Cindy Downs of Greentown, IN and Penny (Ray) Sparling of Kokomo, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sullivan County Humane Society. Christine had a passion for helping others and volunteering her time to many causes.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Appalachian Funeral Home located at 800 E. Watauga Ave in Johnson City, Tennessee.
