William Clyde "Bill" Murray, age 78, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1947, to the late Nathan and Laura Murray.
Bill lived a life shaped by service and strong convictions. He was drafted into the Vietnam war and served during a difficult and divided time in our nation's history. His experience there stayed with him. He didn't speak of it with pride and often reflected on the challenges veterans faced when they returned home.
He was a hard worker who dedicated much of his career to assisting individuals with disabilities. His generous nature led him to give freely of himself and to put others before his own needs.
Bill loved hiking and spending time outdoors and had a deep affection for animals. Music was one of his greatest enjoyments, especially the country music of Connie Smith and the Chuck Wagon Gang.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Laura Murray; his sisters, Faye Davis, Pansy Harmon, Ethel Slagle, and Bertha Ford; and his beloved dog, Halo.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Murray and wife Tracy; his brother, Tex & wife Dorothy.
He will be remembered in all the dimensions that made him uniquely himself.
