JONESBOROUGH - Vicky Lee Moody, 76, of Jonesborough, dropped her body on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, just as her father before her.
She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of Mary Tolley Moody and the late Fred T. Moody. Her heritage as a member of the Monacan Indian Nation was very important to her, as was her spiritual connection as a Christian.
Vicky held many jobs throughout her life, always ready to try out something new. She enjoyed working as a substitute teacher in Elementary Education the most but was very proud of her achievement in going back to college to get certified as a medical transcriptionist.
She will be remembered by those who knew her as a real cut-up, always ready with a laugh for someone who needed it. She loved a good prank, liked a good book, enjoyed dancing and getting dressed up. She collected golf clubs and anything she could find with a butterfly on it.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by brother, Darrell Moody, as well as uncles, Andrew Moody and Brad Moody.
Alongside her mother, she is survived by her sons, Larry Miller and wife Sharon, Rocky Miller and wife Michelle, and Shannon Shaw; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family of Vicky Moody will celebrate her life in a private gathering.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
Sympathies and condolences may be shared with the family via www.morrisbaker.com.

Vicky was a special cousin. Lived with her and Pete one summer when mama was sick. We had so many memories swimming with us at whispering pines, with Shirley and all the kids when they were small. I know we loved each other and got a picture with her in the last years. She was so much fun.
