Mr. Tim Reece October 30, 1949- May 14, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Mr. Tim Reece, age 74, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Reece was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on October 30, 1949, to the late Marvin & Reba Crumley Reece.
He attended Southside Baptist Church, Johnson City and was a believer in his faith. He was the lead singer for The Harvest Time Quartet for fourteen years.
Tim was a 1967 graduate of Jonesborough High School and earned a B.S. Degree from Steed College. He was a United States Army Veteran. Tim retired from the US Postal service as a Mail Carrier.
He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Hilton Reece of Johnson City; two sons, James T. "Jimmy" Reece Jr. (Deanna) and Jesse L. Reece (Sophia) all of Erwin; two step-children whom he loved as his own, Daniel Hopson (Tina) of Gray, and Cindy Simpson Hudgins (Justin) of Mars Hill, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Reece, Dillon Reece, Alexis Reece, Elizabeth Reece, Elijah Reece, Gabriel Reece, Dakota Simpson, Noah Simpson, Abbie Hopson, Isaiah Hopson and Gracie Hopson; and several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Nancy Barnett of Telford, David Reece (Marian) of Limestone, Becky Reece McNeese (Jerry) of Johnson City and Danny Reece (Becky) of Limestone; many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Reece and Pastor Noah Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Monday, May 20, 2024, at McCarty Cemetery in Telford, TN.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Reece, Dakota Simpson, Noah Simpson, Justin Hudgins, Isaiah Hopson, Jimmy Price, and Theo Lamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Walters, Darrell Maupin, Carroll Jones, Dillon James Reece, and Gabriel Joel Reece.
