ELIZABETHTON - Steven Ray Durbin, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
He was born in Hammond, Indiana, and raised by the late Marilyn Elea Watkins and Fulton "Bubba" Watkins. He spent most of his life in Tennessee, where he worked in construction as well as automotive repair.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Durbin; grandson, Noah West; and maternal grandparents, Earl and Jeanetta Elea.
Those surviving include: girlfriend, Susan Oenning; daughters, Julie Crouch (Roy) and Elizabeth West (Dale); siblings, Kathy Hendrix, Michelle Day, and Dana Light (Lee); grandchildren, Madison, Malachi, Isaiah, Adrina, Frank, Aiden, Owen, Sean, and Christopher; greatgrandchildren, Mia, Korbyn, and Ezra; nieces and nephews, Tara, Ronnie, Jared, Daniel, Matthew, Tesla, Kendra, Josh, Misty, Nickole, and Junior; many extended family members, including several step and half siblings; and beloved dog, Sammie.
In lieu of a funeral service, Steven's wishes were for those who knew him to gather and remember a life well lived. His family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Those attending are asked to think of their best memory of Steven, there will be an opportunity to share these stories at 4:00 PM.
