JONESBOROUGH - Samuel Clark, 80, of Jonesborough, TN entered into God's kingdom on August 22, 2023. He was born January 12, 1943 to James and Ethel Clark in Hot Springs, NC. Sam, a devoted husband, is survived by his wife, Jeanette. A most loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his sons, Steve and Tim; grandchildren Paige, Ian, Leah, Abigail and great-grandchild Langston; siblings Mary Jane, George, Mildred, Margret.
Sam's first wife of 50 years, Gayle Clark, passed away in 2015. Sam took faithful care of Gayle while she suffered, and eventually died, from Alzheimer's. He never left her side. Likewise, Sam's second wife, Jeanette, took excellent care of Sam in his final days. Sam and Jeanette enjoyed seven wonderful years together.
Sam never met a stranger. He had a smile that could brighten anyone's day. He loved to "cut up" and laugh with people. An excellent guitarist, there wasn't a song Sam couldn't play. He loved to spend his free time playing the guitar and pickin' with friends. Sam owned and operated a plumbing company for many years. In addition to plumbing, Sam did all manner of construction work. He built and remodeled several homes in his lifetime.
Sam was a great man whose impact will forever be felt by his family. He was a selfless man whose passing will leave an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will always be ingrained in all who knew him.
The most important relationship in Sam's life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. We know he is now resting with his beloved Savior and Friend. A memorial service will take place on August 26, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 E. Oakland Ave. Johnson City, TN 37601. Visitation from 12:00-2:00pm. Service begins at 2:00pm. So sorry to hear about Sam. I knew I hadn't seen him in a while. I always enjoyed it when he came to the bank. God bless you and your family.

My condolences to Steve, Tim and their families. Uncle Sam was a great man & I loved him dearly. He always stood up for me when I was being "interrogated" by my aunts at our family reunions. We always had a good laugh together and he holds a special place in my heart. I love you all and I am sorry for your loss.
Your cousin,
Diane Stevens (Brenda´s daughter)
