Robert C. Allen, MD July 31, 1949- June 16, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Dr. Robert Clark Allen of Johnson City, Tennessee went to his Heavenly home on Sunday June 16th, 2024, to be with his Father who art in Heaven where he is now at Heavenly peace and rest.
Dr. Allen was born on July 31st, 1949, in the city of New Brunswick, New Jersey to his parents Mr. Charles Luther and Mrs. Emmy Zeller) Allen. Doctor Allen grew up in East Tennessee where he currently resides with his wife Leslie. His patients call him Dr. Bob, which suits him. He was a graduate of Blountville High class of 1967 where he completed his high school career while earning the title Valedictorian. From there he went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, this always gave him such a complex as he was always a Vol at heart given his alma mater, but he also could not resist cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs as it held much of his heart also. Dr. Allen then went on to the next step in pursuing his dream by attending the University of Tennessee Medical Units in Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated in 1973. After that he did his residency at Baptist Community Internal Medicine followed by a Fellowship in Community Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He practiced in Johnson City, Tennessee since 1978. Dr. Allen also practiced hand in hand with his amazingly talented nurse Connie Pate (of Johnson City, TN) whom he was always so thankful for her dedication and her hard work and the relationship they kept for many years was very near and dear to his heart. In1999, Dr. Allen founded the Castle Clinic in Johnson City that specialized in Patient-Centered Care and Holistic medicine combined with allopathic medicine. Here he saw through his vision of helping his patients obtain the best quality of life. He achieved many goals during this time and overcame so many adversities to see his vision through. He put so much energy into this project throughout his Castle journey. The Castle in and of itself gave him somewhat the daily imagery of the many magnificent places from his Mother Emmy's first home in Germany which he also made sure to tie in her Surname Zeller and his families Coat of Arms which was the clinics logo. In more recent years, Dr. Allen practiced Addiction Medicine as this was a great passion of his. Here he was able to assist his patients and tried every day to give them hope and to show them compassion that some may not have ever known outside of the grace he showed them in their daily lives. During this time, he also wrote books that he was so proud of titled Addictus Poetica which encapsulates his creative nature and his poetic talents. These books have multiple volumes that can even be found in the Harvard University bookstore. Dr. Allen made it his mission to care so much and to fight hard for his patients and believed with everything in him that he would make an impact on many and their quality of life and believed with his whole heart that there was healing to be done and he knew where there was a will there was a way. To know Dr. Allen was to know that he could never stop or give up on his purpose and his life's work of practicing medicine and making great impacts in the lives of his patients whom he held so dear to his heart that his greatest joy and his job well done would come in practicing medicine until his last moment here on this side of Heaven and Dr. Allen, you did just that, and with that we can rest assured knowing that in that moment that your soul departed and was then absent from your earthly vessel and your soul was then present with your Lord in Heaven that you had to have then heard those words you searched so hard to find "Job well done my good and faithful servant".
Dr. Allen was preceded in Death by his parents Mr. Charles Luther and Mrs. Emmy (Zeller) Allen and his beloved sister Dina Allen Guinn.
Dr. Allen left behind a dearly loving wife Mrs. Leslie Allen, whom he loved and cherished deeply. He also was survived by a sister Linda Killenbec of Deltona, FL. A brother-in-law Richard Guinn of Johnson City, TN. Mother-in-law Miss. Peggy Pettingill of Johnson City, TN
