JOHNSON CITY - Ricky Bland Williams, 71, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on December 15, 2025. Ricky dedicated over 35 years of hard work to Leon-Ferenbach Inc. and later retired from Crown Pharmaceutical. He was a devoted husband and shared 52 years of marriage with the love of his life Sherry Williams. Ricky was known as one of the best softball players around, he had a true love for the game and the people he played it with. When he wasn't on the field, he enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with those he loved most especially his granddaughter, his "sugar boogers" Alexia Williams, and his son Ricky Williams junior. Ricky will be remembered for his funny nature, loving heart, and the genuine consideration and sympathy he showed to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Garner and Argie Lee Cook Williams.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry Elliott Williams; his son, Ricky Williams Jr. of Johnson City; his granddaughter, Alexia Williams of Johnson City; three brothers, Randy Williams and wife. Lisa, Ronnie Williams and Robbie Williams and wife, Jennifer all of Jonesborough; an aunt, Betty McCool; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ricky will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2025 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Mark McCool and Bishop Billy McCool officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Eden at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mickey Mackley, Jimmy Elliott, Robbie Williams, Dale Odom, Dean Carter and Tim Hodge; Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Williams, Randy Williams, Larry Scott and Chad Scott.

I think about you brothers a lot. I drive through the neighborhood several times a year. I always remember the times we played in the backyards. It was sad news to hear of Ricky's passing. I send my deepest condolences to Ricky's family and friends. RIP RICKY WILLIAMS.
