UNICOI - Philip "Phil" Laws, age 73 of Unicoi, TN went to be with his Lord unexpectedly on March 21, 2024, at his home. In his high school years, Phil worked for Peter's Pet Shop until they closed, immediately following he began working for CSX Railroad as a Yard Master until he retired. He graduated from Johnson Bible College with a ministerial degree, and was a supply preacher throughout east TN. He was a faithful member and elder at Buffalo Valley Christian Church. Phil was a lover of nature, and specifically very talented with photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Laws; brother, Martin Laws; brother-in-law, Ken Brackett.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Laws; sister, Ann Brackett; nephew, Kenneth; nieces: Pam, Karen, and Lisa, and three great-nieces and nephew.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Buffalo Valley Christian Church (111 Buffalo Valley Church Rd, Johnson City, TN 37601) from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30 pm with Pastor Roland Whittemore officiating. Family and friends will gather at Roselawn Memory Gardens at 1:50pm for a graveside service beginning at 2pm.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Phil's honor to Buffalo Valley Christian Church.

I am so sorry for your loss. Phil and I were neighbors growing up and went to school together. Praying for comfort for his family.
