JOHNSON CITY - Peggy Bright Rowe, 93, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at NHC Healthcare.
Peggy was a native of Washington College, and a lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Elmer and Lola Myrtle Durman Bright.
Peggy was a graduate of Washington College Academy and then East Tennessee State College where she received her Bachelor of Art Degree in Music.
Peggy was a homemaker and owned and operated Peggy's Card & Party Shop. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Junior Service League.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Eric Rowe, in 2005, two brothers, Jack and David, seven sisters, Ruth, Fay, Helen, Mary, Millie, Cleo and Betty.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Dr. Robert G. Rowe, Jr.; four children, Robert Gross Rowe, III, Nebo, NC, Vickie Lynne Coleman and husband Tom, Townsend, David Lee Rowe and wife Cheryl, Elizabethton, Lisa Kathryn Rowe, Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Kara Rowe, Key West, FL, Charity Constant, Clearwater, FL, Tommy Coleman and wife Kayla, Macon, GA, Ashleigh Coleman Mundle and husband Kevin, Dublin, GA, Mandi Rowe, Jonesborough, Cody Rowe and wife Stephanie, Chicago, IL, Ava Elizabeth Lyons, Johnson City, and Uriah Standish, Asheville, NC; eleven great-grandchildren, Jaxon, N.J., Robbie, Devon, Stevie, Silas, Abigail, Gabriel, Colin, Simon and Edwin; two great-great-grandchildren, Jinora and Amour; one brother, Bill Bright, Florida; one sister, Joyce Crawford, Telford; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral service celebrating Peggy will be conducted Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Palma Bennett, Minister, officiating.
The graveside committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 -11:00 A.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
Donations may be made in honor of Peggy to FRIENDS Down Syndrome Support Groups of the Tri-Cities, P.O. Box 5677, Johnson City, TN 37602, or to First Christian Church, 200 E. Mountcastle Dr., Johnson City, TN 37601.

I was a caregiver for Mrs. Peggy back in 2017-2018, she was a sweet lady and had a kind soul. She always had a smile on her face, and had love for every single person she met. You will be missed dearly.
