Noah Ledford Obituary

Noah James Ledford

October 17, 2017 -

May 11, 2025

Noah James Ledford, 7, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Niswonger Children's Hospital surrounded by the love of his parents.

Noah was born to Jeff and Jennifer Ledford on October 17, 2017, in Bristol, TN.

Noah, or "little dude" as he was more affectionately known, brought a tremendous amount of joy to those who knew him. He had a rockin' mohawk, epic eye rolls and side eyes, and a sweet, sometimes mischievous, smile. Noah was a fighter. He battled seizures, infections, and a body that refused to support him, and he beat the odds. He was a snuggly boy, loved so dearly by his family and community. We will miss the noise of your presence, little buddy.

In Noah's 7 years, he made a tremendous impact on the fight for kids with disabilities, and specifically in the fight to find a cure for CDKL5. Many of you have been following along on Noah's Journey where he has helped raise awareness and funding for CDKL5 research. Noah was an integral part of getting the Katie Beckett Waiver instated in Tennessee to support the families of and children with complex medical needs. This accomplishment will impact lives for years to come.

Though our hearts are broken over the loss, we rejoice in knowing Noah is home free. He is whole and perfectly healed. His little body is restored, and he is worshipping the Father in ways he was never able to on earth. Scripture tells us "…this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison…" (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). As we experience the weight of this affliction, may we consider how great a glory must be awaiting us. Above all, may Noah's life be a testament to the ultimate healing that can be found in Christ alone.

Noah is survived by his parents, Jeff and Jennifer, and his sister, Addison; his grandparents James Bruning and Judy Carpentier (Mike); his aunts and uncles Scott Ledford (Tracie) and Jamie Paizis (Stephen); and his cousins Lauren, Drew, Amelia, Dylan, and Avery. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Kay Ledford, who are sure to be welcoming him with open arms.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff in the PICU at Niswonger Children's Hospital who cared so well for Noah and went above and beyond for the entire family. They would like to thank the in-home nurses and caregivers who have become life-long friends and family for all of their kindness and care through the years.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at Calvary Church on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Robbie Hilton officiating. There will be no formal receiving of friends, but the family welcomes you to stay and share memories about Noah afterward. 178 South Pickens Bridge Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the International Foundation for CDKL5 Research to continue the fight to find a cure for CDKL5. You can donate on the website at CDKL5.com or by mailing a donation to:

I was there when Noah came into this world and from that moment he had made an impact on mine and my families lives. He has been such a joy to be around. I remember his first smile and his first laugh, oh what joy that brought. His smile brightened your day. You will be loved forever sweet little dude.
