Nancy Lou Byrd

KINGSPORT - Nancy Lou Byrd, age 86 of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born to the late Howard and Waulena Jones on January 7, 1939, in Johnson City, Tennessee.

On December 3, 1967, Nancy married the love of her life, Roy G. Byrd. She spent her years raising their son, Jeff. Nancy was also a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir until her health no longer permitted. She also was a member of the Musical Voices at The Johnson City Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Bill Jones.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Roy G. Byrd, son, Jeff (Leann) Byrd; grandchildren and the light of her life, Hannah and Matthew Byrd.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 11:30am until 1:30pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held immediately following in Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00pm. All attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.
