Mrs. Janet Blankinchip, age 86, of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on November 29, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1939, in Leakesville, Mississippi, to Lee Vert, Jr. and Susie Marcille Rounsaville.
Mrs. Janet lived a full and meaningful life devoted to faith, family, and service to others. She worked for many years as a dedicated bookkeeper for Basila Manufacturing in Leakesville and later at Citronelle Convalescent Center. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving her church family.
She loved spending time outdoors, especially working in her garden and fishing. She also cherished cooking for family and friends, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of homecooked meals. She had a special love for children and never missed an opportunity to spoil them with affection, attention, and sweet treats.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Clymouth Blankinchip; her children, Steve (Sharon) Blankinchip of Leakesville, Cindy Roberts of Citronelle, Billy (Sherry) Blankinchip of Citronelle, Suzanne (Anthony) Harvison of State Line, and Gary (Angela) Blankinchip of Citronelle; her sister, Evelyn Morris of Georgetown, Alabama; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Newburn; her parents; her brother, L.V. Rounsaville III; her sister, Dorris Faye Dunnam; and her son-in-law, Bruce Roberts.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous spirit, and deep love for her family. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Janet Blankinchip's wonderful life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, also at the church.
