JOHNSON CITY - Maude Inez Scott Stamper, 79, Johnson City, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at her residence.
Maude was born in Watauga to the late Anthon Edgar Scott and Onis Belle Willis Scott.
She retired from ETSU as a custodian and attended Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church for many years until her health no longer allowed.
In addition to her parents, Maude was preceded in death by: her husband, Lonzo Stamper; four brothers, Virgil, Lester, Luke and Wallace Scott; and three sisters, Virginia Persinger Peters, Doris Blackburn and Margaret Calhoun.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Stamper; one granddaughter, Skylar Stamper; many nieces and nephews; three stepsons, Michael Stamper (Linda), David Stamper (Michelle) and Larry Stamper; one great-grandchild, Juvia Renta Arroyo; and her best friend of 40 years, Darlene Jones.
The family of Maude Stamper will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 11 am with Mr. Jami Melani officiating. The graveside service will take place at Monte Vista Memorial Park immediately after the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
