JOHNSON CITY - Margaret "Pauline" Stroupe Woodby, 95, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, in the NHC HealthCare, Johnson City.
Pauline was a native of Erwin, TN. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Gertrude Condrey Stroupe.
Pauline worked at Gordon's Furniture for over twenty years as an assembly line worker in the cabinet room. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Johnson City Rescue Squad Crewetts and the Bowling League. Pauline was a room mother at her kid's school.
Pauline enjoyed canning, reading her bible, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and growing beautiful roses.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Sparks, Helen McCray, Louise Hammonds, Kathryn Benisch, and Teri Elizabeth Buck; brothers, Lester Stroupe, Bill Stroupe, Charles Stroupe, and Ray Stroupe; former spouse and father of her children, Paul L. Woodby; sweetheart, companion for over fifty years, Arthur L. Johnson.
Survivors include three children, Patsy Glover and her husband Buddy, Paul F. Woodby, Jr. and his wife Linda and Pam Walker and her husband Jay; siblings, Barbara Cooper, Glenn Stroupe, Harry Stroupe and Larry Stroupe; grandchildren, Lisa Monforte and her husband Michael, Brian Glover and his wife Kinli, Amy Miller and her husband Mark, Josh Woodby and his wife Charloe, Laura Schnelle, Jeremiah Woodby and his wife Jennifer, Lindsey Ferguson and Jordan Walker and his wife Sabrina; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
The family of Margaret "Pauline" Stroupe Woodby will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Steve Guinn officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brian Glover, Jordan Walker, Mason Moss, Mark Miller, Mike Buck, and Jerry Moody. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm Thursday.
