Louise Clites Obituary

Louise Green Griffin Clites

November 9, 1930 -

May 14, 2025

CUMMING, GA - Louise Green Griffin Clites passed from her earthly life into the hands of God on May 14, 2025. She was a resident of the Villas at Canterfield in Cumming, GA having moved there after living in Milligan College and Johnson City, TN for over 40 years.

Mrs. Clites was pre-deceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Green, her sister Martha Newby and husbands Dr. Robert P. Griffin and Roger M. Clites. She is survived by her four children and spouses: Betsy (Mario) Pimentel of Conyers, GA, Palmer (Laura) Griffin of Flowery Branch, GA, Kitty (Glen) Martin of Woodstock, GA, Jenny (Jerry) Connelly of Norman, OK and step-daughter Nina Kincaid of Hammond, LA She was the very proud grandmother of eight men and women (and their spouses) and the great-grandmother of twelve vibrant youngsters. She is also survived by cousins and nieces.

In addition to being a full time mother she was a laboratory Medical Technologist and worked alongside her husband in his medical practice in South Alabama. She used that same training while serving as a medical missionary in Central America making 40 mission trips in 20 years to Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Belize with Christian medical mission agencies. In the states she used her skills to organize and lead mission efforts that supported the international missions including a sewing ministry and collecting and shipping shoe boxes through Central Church of Christ in Johnson City. She continued supporting foreign missions in her waning years while living in Cumming and attending Grace Chapel Church of Christ.

Louise was lovingly cared for by the staff of The Villas at Canterfield and Golden Rule Hospice in the last months of her life. Her wish was to go to sleep one day in her own bed and awaken in the presence of Jesus; she did.

The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary of Central Church of Christ on May 21st beginning at 10:00am. The funeral service for Louise Clites will be in the sanctuary at 12:00 with Minister Tim Hall officiating. Her interment will be at Mountain Home National Military Cemetery at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Health Talents International P. O. Box 8303 Searcy, AR 72145; Predisdan USA, Inc. 2555 Northwinds Pkwy Alpharetta, GA 30009; Central Church of Christ P. O. Box 4021 Johnson City, TN 37602; or a mission of one's choice.

I use for Louise in her home in Milligan college years ago and always enjoyed her telling of her mission trips or helping her pack for them and trying to learn how to make my own mayonnaise. She was a blessing to work for.

I´m so sorry to hear of Mrs Clites passing but I do rejoice in that I know she was a Christian and is totally at peace without any ailments. She was a center of activities at her home Church; Central Church of Christ in Johnson City Tn. A lovely lady and well respected by all who knew her and such a hard worker for the Lord. I will miss her very much. Hugs and peace to her family. Karen Curtis
