Mrs. Lorene Francis, 93, passed away at Princeton Assisted Living on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Mrs. Francis was born and spent her early years in Buladean, North Carolina. She has lived in Johnson City, Tennessee most of her life. She worked as a phone operator after graduating high school in North Carolina. She married Roy Francis in 1956. She devoted her time to nurturing her children while her husband worked for the railroad. Lorene and Roy devoted their lives to family, church, and being an asset to their community. Lorene was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great- grandmother and an unselfish friend to all that knew her. She was a rare and wonderful person that will be missed by all that knew her.
Lorene was a faithful member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Roy. Siblings Alma, Sue, Bill, Robert, Clyde and Harvey Garland, Dora Lou Wishon, Wanda Tracy, and Dovie Tracy.
Survivors include her daughters Melanie O'Harrow and Angela Shelton (Tom); one grandson, Travis Honeycutt (Brandy), and her most cherished great-granddaughter McKinley; brothers, Troy Garland (Betty), Roger Garland (Wanda), and Wayne Brinkley (Sue). She also left several nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal services for Mrs. Lorene Francis will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Curtis Hurt officiating. Active pallbearers will be Troy Garland, Roger Garland, Wayne Brinkley, Kenneth Francis, Travis Honeycutt, and Tom Shelton. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm Wednesday.
