TELFORD - Kyle David Greenwell, Sr., age 72 of Telford, TN, passed away December 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Kyle was born in Butler, TN on December 9, 1951 to the late Bobby Ray and Mary Lou Greenwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sally Bunton and Roxie Greenwell and grandfathers, Fawn Bunton and Dewey Greenwell.
Kyle was a United States Army veteran and a Lieutenant at the Romeoville, IL fire department for over 13 years. He was also a school bus driver and adored all of his kids. He was full of character and was known for his funny dad jokes and sense of humor. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing and boating. He also liked mowing and started his own mowing company. He was the world's best Pa and loved his family more than anything. He lit up every room he walked in.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 53 years, Margarie Greenwell; daughter, Debra Pfeifer (Louis); son, Kyle Greenwell, Jr. (Christina); grandchildren, Louis Pfeifer, Kat Pfeifer (Samuel Blankenship), Taylor Brobeck (Trevor), Brianna Winston (Gage), Victoria Greenwell, Austin Greenwell; sister, Robin Laray Greenwell; sisters-in-law, Beverly Frias, Bitsy Elkins; several aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved dogs, Mealie and Paco and his cat, Tiger and many other cats he buddied with.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Mountain City Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Greene County Legion Honor Guard.
