Kermit Wade Wood December 14, 1947- June 11, 2024
Kermit Wade Wood 76 years old, born on December 14, 1947, and passed away on June 11, 2024, from a courageous battle with cancer.
Kermit attended Happy Valley High School. Kermit was a Service-Connected Veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, he retired from American Water Heater after 27 years of service 1970-1997.
Kermit was proceeded in death by his parents, Glen, and Nellie Wood; sister, Patricia Waycaster; his wife, Jalta Wood; one grandson, Nicholas Todd.
Kermit is survived by his three children, son, Daniel Wood Ruth); Daughter's, Lahoma Hayner (Pete), and Leona Todd (Anthony); six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Sheila Wood (Norman Simerly); special friends, Joan Doyle, Marge Schumacher, and Larry Creed.
Kermit enjoyed taking care of his yard. He also enjoyed movies. He was always willing to help others when he could. He was an avid Elvis fan. Kermit was a great man, father, and grandfather. He was loved by those who knew him.
The family would like to thank the nurses on CLC-1 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center for the care he received.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 17, 2024, from 12 to 1 pm. The graveside committal service will follow in the Happy Valley Memorial Park at 1:45 pm with Tony Hoss officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Veterans Honor Guard will accord military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
