Katherine Graybeal Obituary

Katherine Graybeal

August 26, 1978 -

December 26, 2025

Katie was born in Kingsport TN and raised in piney Flatts TN by Gary and Anita Dorton and big brother Pat. She was an avid tap dancer and skilled ballerina and gymnast sticking every move. A lover of all things pretty and perfect. She always had a soft spot for a cute dog and found the perfect one in her beloved beagle, Duncan.

She met the lover of her soul Will Graybeal ("Josh" only to her!) Perfectly planned and desired she first brought Aiden into this world and then Reid with her Josh. They would become her "Boyd" and her "Poodle". As a family of four they traveled across the country looking for the perfect coffee shop and book store. And of course a perfect boutique. A designer of a perfect home she provided her best and final masterpiece for her boys to cherish her art and feel her in forever.

Katie was always seeking to learn about God and how to live and love. She obtained three degrees all focused on living: an associates in culinary, a bachelors in nutrition and a masters in family and marriage counseling. She worked hard on herself and wrote her a road map on how to live in her journals and books that she has left Josh and her boys to use. On December 26, 2025 at 1:06 PM she made her final graduation with a PhD in life.

Those who had the privilege to know her closely were given a gift. You know what that gift is. Just remember to close your eyes and ask her to still guide you. I will do this forever. I had the privilege of being your Josh for nearly 26 years on earth. We are now completely one forever.

I love you, babe

Josh
