Kenneth Rose Obituary

Kenneth Lee Rose

August 16, 1954 -

June 23, 2025

On the morning of June 23, 2025, heavenly pallbearers were given a special dispatch to visit one of God's faithful servants, carrying Kenneth Rose to his eternal home. Kenneth, a man known for his unwavering Christian faith, integrity, trustworthiness, and consistent character, passed away peacefully at his residence at the age of 70. On that quiet morning, Kenneth's earthly battles with cancer were over, and he was present with his Lord, where we will meet him again in Heaven.

Ken, the eldest of three sons, was born to Rev. Roy and Mrs. Dora Rose in Johnson City, TN, on August 16, 1954. His life took a beautiful turn in December 1976 when he met Anna, his soulmate, at a church Christmas party. Their loving courtship blossomed over three years, leading to their marriage on December 8, 1979. Their family grew with the arrival of their only son, Daniel, in 1990.

Ken began his career in construction under the mentorship of the late Jim Stultz. For nearly 20 years, he oversaw the metal building division at J.E. Green Company before opening his own business, Volunteer Building Systems, in 2001. Although he built many commercial buildings across the Southeast, his true calling was furthering the Kingdom of God by building churches and church fellowship centers.

When Ken wasn't working, spending time with his family, or camping, he was bass fishing with his close friends on the lakes of East Tennessee. Ken dedicated his life to God and the Church, faithfully representing Jesus Christ in his business endeavors and church leadership. He tried his best to serve the people at Valley Forge and later found a wonderful church family at Chinquapin Grove. His presence and commitment will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dora Rose, and his sister-in-law, Lori Rose, the wife of his brother Bill.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anna; his devoted son, Daniel; his brothers Bill and Alan (sister-in-law Connie); several cherished nieces and nephews; and his dear friends Jeff and Gail Lyons.

In accordance with his wishes, a funeral service to honor Ken's life and legacy will be held at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, 1503 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, TN on Sunday, June 29th, at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Jim McComas officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday. Pallbearers include his son Daniel Rose, close friends Jeff Lyons and Gary Holder, brothers Alan and Bill Rose, and nephews Mitchell, Cameron, Hunter, and David Rose.

The family welcomes flowers; however, contributions to the Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church Building Fund would be deeply appreciated for those who wish to offer a lasting tribute.

I met Ken when we were both working at my dad´s office. We became friends quickly and enjoyed playing practical jokes on one another. He was like a big brother to me and another beloved son to our dad. He came to see Dad in the days before he passed in 2006. The 3 of us relived many memories in that visit! It was a sweet visit that meant the world to Dad, and was a privilege to be a part of! Ken was one of the best! I feel sure Dad (Jim Stultz) was thrilled to see him again! Your family will be in our prayers!

My condolences to Anna and Daniel, and to all of his friends. I'm so glad I got to know him. He will definitely be missed, but may our Lord provide comfort and strength to all who knew him.
