JOHNSON CITY - Kenneth Wayne Ramey, 78, gained his wings on November 29, 2023. Originally from Erwin, Tennessee, he had lived in Johnson City, Tennessee for forty-two years.
He was the son of the late Kenny and Edith Ramey.
He was a retired electrician and had worked for several contractors within Eastman Chemical Company for 35 plus years.
He was an avid lake enthusiast that enjoyed his time at both Lakeshore Marina on Watauga Lake in his early years and Jay's boat dock on Boone Lake during his later years.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Denise Ramey, Jill Newman and Michael and wife Monica Ramey, all of Erwin; grandchildren, Natosha Lee of Bristol, TN and Dustin Bennett of Elizabethton, TN; great-grandchildren, Braydon Bishop of Bristol, TN, Khloe Bennett and Jackson Bennett, Elizabethton, TN and three special nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Debbie Ramey; brother, and wife Tom and Gracie Ramey; grandson, Nick Crowder; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family of Kenneth Wayne Ramey will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm Monday, December 4, 2023, at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The graveside committal service will follow at 1 pm in the Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor John Edwards officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
